Question...Need answers

I recently looked at and test drove a '01 Z28 M6 w/80k miles...It was the base model with hardtop, cloth, and manual windows. When i test drove it, it seemed to have no bottom end power at all?? When i turned around i put it in 1st gear and launched it pretty hard...the damn thing didnt even spin the tires..?? Is that in all stock M6 LS1's or did this one prolly have 2.73 gears? I've driven my buddies '02 WS6 and '01 Firehawk both A4 and they both would get sideways on me...so IDK? I should be getting a LS1 or Cobra within 4 months and would like as much advise as possible with with what year to get and gears to have in the car...Also what are some good mods to do for the money and how much do they cost/ and cut your 1/4 time ???

All m6 cars came with 3.42's from the factory. If you were really trying and the traction control was off(if it had it) the tires should come loose pretty easy. The first time i test drove my car the traction control was on and I still got the tires to squeel for a second, I was't trying either just was't use to the power. I'd say there something wrong if you can't break the tires loose in one of these cars.
