Prince never looked like the type of person to have a strong anything.... including an immune system.
RIP Prince

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
I saw Prince play at the LA Coliseum back in 1980 as the lead off band for the Rolling Stones tour that year. It was an all day affair with 6 bands playing that day. Seems that Mick Jagger had seen him play and insisted that his band play with the Stones on their US tour. Although I'd never heard of him up to that point I liked his act but most of the folks in the front tossed bottles and trash at him. Prince came on stage wearing a purple teddy, purple stocking hose and purple high heels...

Didn't see that, but saw him in assless chaps in the 1991 VMAs broadcast. Apparently someone wrote an article about that today
Prince's 1991 MTV Video Awards Performance Is The Maybe The Sexiest Thing Ever Aired On TV
I'm thinking maybe he passed out and hit his head, but we haven't heard of any external injuries, which I'd expect that to cause.

So this is now a which singers throughout history would we rather have back?
Merle Haggard lived a long life. If I die at age 80... feel free to let me be dead.
I grew up on Elvis movies and music despite being born 10 years after he died. The best of Elvis had passed, if he were alive we would have just had 40 more years of watching him turn into a fatter, grosser version of himself from the year before.
I would bring back Bradley Nowell.

actually....Prince was very talented as a writer and was a pretty damn good guitarist. I'm not a real big fan of him or Haggard and wouldn't trade either for the other but I do recognize why Prince's death is such a big deal to people. He was a huge influence on a lot of people that are now of age to comment about his death where Merle was before most of their times.

I agree with all of that. There are only a few select songs of his that I like, but, I still listen to them occasionally. However, the news coverage was insane. Seriously. I guess I could consider myself somewhat of a fan, but, holy cow... whole day marathons of his death on all the news channels was a bit too much. It was irritating to say the least

Everyone's trying to get in a good word now because he left a ~$300 million fortune and no will.
Vultures started circling almost immediately.
