    Portable Lifts

I'm planning on a Pacesetter install sometime in the future and I was wondering what you guys thought about a portable lift like these. The width concerns me a little bit because they aren't even 4 feet wide but I've heard that you need to get these cars pretty high up in the air for header installs, tranny swaps, etc. Besides, they are less than $2,000 so I would think that would be a good investment for the DIY guys out there like myself. So what do you think?

I can't tell much from the looks of those, but they don't look like they can do much more than an oil change. It doesn't look like you would have the room to put headers in. But thats just from what I can tell by those pics.

The mid-rise one might be worth it...the truck in the pic is up to the guys chest.

IMO of working on cars, I would lean towards no! For the simple stuff, yes. You would be very limited with its use! But alot of times I coould have used it!

After further research I realize that it wouldn't work for anything under the car toward the middle of the car. However, it looks like it could work for a header install. You would just have to lower it and use a jack for the y-pipe install probably.

We have a dual post BendPak lift at my work. One of the idiots put a big ass truck on it and bent one of the arms about an inch and a half.
