    Pagemaker export to pdf problem

I am using Pagemaker 6.5 and am trying to export a document as a .pdf.
    I am getting this error.

"Exporting a PDF requires a PostScript printer driver. Please install one."

What must I do in order to export my documents as pdf documents?

    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

don't export it, go to file> print> select "Adobe PDF" or "PostScript file"

IF you dont' have adobe acrobat with Distiller installed-you CANNONT creat the ".ps" file

this may be a dumb question, but I am not wanting to print it. I need to save it as a file so it can be hosted on a site so people can download it and read it or print if they want. I have acrobat reader installed. I don't know what distiller is.
I also have photoshop and illustrator if that would help in any way.
It doesn't even have to be a pdf, just a file type that the people could open, view, print.

you want it as a PDF. I know it sounds weird, your' not printing a physical document, your printing it through the PostScriptor which will create a PDF on your desktop. Doesn't matter what other programs you have, if you don't have distiller i don't think you can create a ".ps" file.

I use a program called PrimoPDF. It prints the document, but not to a printer, it just saves it to a PDF file so whatever you would see on the paper is what you see on the file.

    It's free and it's at primopdf.com

    good stuff.

Thank you. So, if I understand this, I can create the pages with Pagemaker and then use PrimoPDF to open it and save it to a PDF file?
    That would be GREAT!

watchout when using other program then adobe to created pdf's the can cause problems down the roads depending on what they are used for. PDF was created by adobe and are the only ones who uses their pdf engine.

Primo works like a printer. It installs a virtual "printer" on your computer. It shows up in your printers and faxes window and you can even print certain pages of a document instead of a whole document just as you can print anything else.

When you set your print options, it opens up the primo program and asks you wherey ou Want the PDF saved and it creates the PDF in the chosen directory.

Wow, it works great! THank you so much.
So, if someone didn't use something like Primo to do this, what all would someone have to buy from Adobe in order to create pdfs? I have spent a lot of money on Adobe products already and none of them can do this.

We have Acrobat Distiller on our machines here. Same as Primo pretty much. Works as a printer, creates a PDF and prompts you on where to put it. Nice tool for sending information to clients, etc. who don't have AutoCAD or other related programs.

Also works great in sending images that are in TIFF format...I print them to PDF, or convert them to JPEG to reduce the size. TIFF's are HUGE and I hate them...
