I always do a search before I post. And it was from a member who was a member 7 years less than me. WTF?

If everyone searched and no one posted, it would be so boring.

That's a huge turn off there and especially for new people. I find it ironic that they still harp on telling people to search when their search feature is one of the worst on the web.

and here's the funny part - in order to post an add in the classifieds you have to have "x" amount of posts OR be a member for longer than 6 months.......

how am I supposed to obtain enough posts before the 6 month period if I only ever use the search button?

So, I posted an add over there a while ago, and I have very few posts, but I was a member for quite a few years, and my add was deleted. I wrote a message to a mod, and I said WTF? They said I didn't have enough posts, but then realized I was a member for a good number of years, and they put it back up for me.

Being told to "Do a search" on "the other site" is akin to an initiation or rite of passage over there.

It's one of the many reasons I rarely visit there anymore.
