looks to me like he thought the camaro was coming into his lane and swerved and just lost it. Not only is the guy out a car but he's also out a pair of underwear, shirt, jeans, and boots too I bet because I would've shit all over everything I had on.

Did the '55 driver not have a proper seat belt restraint?
How was he even allowed on the track?
For his legs to come through the windshield, the seat belts must have been mounted with aluminum pop rivets.

Read that the restraint tabs broke the welds from the floorboard.
