One Challenger to rule them all
So ummm... this is interesting.
We all like to make fun of the Dodge Challenger. Calling it fat, slow etc.
It's like that chubby chick with the great body. You know there is potential there so you don't mind being seen with it and all that but deep down inside you know it's just fat....
Well friends. Just like when that chubby chick goes on that hardcore diet and sheds the pounds or when the weakling begins shooting roids and gets totally jacked and starts pounding on his tormentors..... the challenger has had enough.
There is.... in the real world.... driving among us.... a factory built.....
Challenger SRT-10
You read that right. a 600hp 8.4 liter Dodge Challenger...

Pewter- 2002 Trans Am WS6 M6
Didnt they build that about a year back just to prove it could be done, never to actually be put in production?

indeed.. but there is a good case for it.... with viper production wrapping up and those engines just sitting there..... could be the "GT500" of the challenger line

They already sell the Viper engines as crate engines. So its not like there just sitting around.

Cerberus sold the majority of it to Chrysler Group LLC and Fiat owns the other 20% with the option to buy up to 51% if all pans out. But from everything I have read Cerberus is in control of Chrysler Group. Theres also other small companies that own some of it also.

That actually sounds really sweet. I want one.
The Challenger is actually starting to grow on me some, they really aren't all that bad, IMO. I would never buy one, but I do indeed like them.

I would get one for a daily beater. But not as a trade in of my T/A.

considering a SRT8 Challenger cost in the $40k+ range ... Might as well buy a real HEMI CUDA for what they would be asking for that thing

You might get a 383 or 440 4-barrel for 40k, but sure as shit no originally and still hemi equipped car.
Edit: I see you meant what they would charge for an srt-10. The viper is around 80, so the v10 challenger might be around 60. My statement above still standsLast edited by wheeliE-maxx; 04-23-2010 at 01:31 PM.

I don't like V10 at all

An aluminum la with fancy heads and two cylinders tacked on is far cheaper than a carbon shell. But I don't like v10's either, nothing beats a soulful v8 wail. The 6.1 has an iron block and modern hemi blocks are supposed to be tanks. The v10 shouldn't really add weight then afaik
