Olds Cutlass Vert 1995
There is a Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible near me for sale. Its black, automatic, 3.4 DOHC-engine and has 75kmiles on it.
I like the look if this car but know nothing about it.
I thought that it would be a nice summer car.
Anyone has some pros and cons?

Keep the miles off you F-Bodies, probably cheaper to insure as a DD. May be able to put the Z28's on Collector Car insurance, maybe?

Really cool looking cars, they are on craigslist all the time with bad motors or trannys. Someday i'll buy one just because of how cool they look. The 3.4 really wasn't that great of an engine.

If you get it I'd buy or come up with something for rotating the engine forward you'll need it for the back plugs. 75K I'm suspicious about the timeing belt being replaced at 60K like it should have been. I'd also replace the tensioner and idlers while you're in there. Alternators suck ass to replace as well on that engine. It also still has the famous 60* V6 intake gasket replacement every couple of years. Also the 4T60E HD in that car isn't strong enough for the car in stock form. I went through about 4 in the time I had my 94. 3 of which were in the first year of ownership
Its a fun engine and I miss my 94 GTP with one

i used to have a 96 cutlass 2dr cpe, i LOVED that car. the engine (mine had the smaller 3.1) was surprisingly peppy and the car as a whole was extremely dependable. if the price is right (and to be honest, it should be pretty cheap), scoop that bad boy up and keep the miles off your f-bod.

I've had 8 or so w-bodies in the last 15 years. Never had to do an intake gasket on any of them. I've done work on 10+ others for people I know and they've never needed intake gaskets. I've also never had to replace a tranny in any of them. Including my '90 Turbo Grand Prix that had almost 200,000 miles. The only thing they all needed was the dist. drive o-ring replaced. Regular maintenance works wonders.

I had 2 friends with them, hardtops, but I always like them... I'd take one if I came accross one cheap.

Electrical problems, plus pain in the ass to work on.
