Haha, that article makes mustangs look bad. Funny how C and D and MT always run shit ass 13.8 or 13.9 in LS1 cars but the Mustang Magazine got 12s. You'd think it would be the other way around..........

The price of a gallon of gas hovers at about a buck these days, the same as it was nearly twenty years ago in constant dollars. When you have cheap gasoline, and plenty of it, making cars with lots of horsepower is a wonderful way to express automotive enthusiasm.

I hate to say this, but I can honestly remember reading that October 1986 issue of R/T where they blew the engine up in the prototype Mustang.

I can't believe how slow the 80's and early 90's cars are. I still love 3rd gens though.

thats pretty cool. i just ran my oo ss and got a 13.504 @106.64 which is a tenth of a second slower than what the article said for the 01ss with 5 more horse and torque than mine. and mine has 65 thousand miles on it all stock. that makes me feel very good about my cars potential to hold its horse power through the miles

I wouldn't mind lifting that off of him someday and dropping a crate motor in it. An LS2 or something..

It was a blast fucking with the 5.0 boys back in the early 90's. They were used to having their way with Camaro's, and I would kick them in the balls with a stock appearing car.
We used to fuck with them pretty hard. I would pull the shit out of them from a red light, and we would hit the next light, and of course they wanted to ask about the car.
I would tell them that I was a stock 305, and that my mom had a 5.0 just like theirs that would would smoke my IROC. I suggested that they should go get their car checked out.
