    nhra firebird.....

had a little basket rack 6 point come under my stand yesterday afternoon then about an hour before dark a doe came into ~40 yards but was directly down wind of me. She winded me and scooted out of there. I'm going back tomorrow morning. I brought all my clothes home and re-washed everything and will cover scent it all before going back out ( I left my clothes in the camper and had the dog in there). In the 6 years I've had my stand in that tree that's only the second time a deer has come from that direction. The first time was a buck that I shot.

I can't wait for our season to start. It's awesome being up in a tree watching deer feeding right under you. How long is your season?

You just don't know how to cook 'em or you'd be shooting more than a finger at 'em. I have a bunch of deer here too. Ate the shit out of my garden this year. My wifes dad was giving me all this advice on how to keep the deer out. I told him " I eat a helluva lot more venison than I do vegtables." He saw a lost garden, I saw fatter deer.

As long as you get your money's worth, who cares what the payout is be it meat or potatos?

i wanna shoot deer! they are out of control where i live. I see packs of 6 or more every morning, afternoon and night. Its literally constant. If i was to go outside right now for a jog, i guarantee you i'd see a pack of them by the time i got back. Maybe even 2 packs.

Yes, Mother Nature is a wonderous entity and each of her lovely creatures is a marvel unto themselves. Deer are sleek, graceful, beautiful creatures, to be admired and loved and cherished and respected.

And, once or twice a year, shot on sight with extreme prejudice.

    They're herds. Not packs

Send them up here, we're taking a year off hunting to try and help the population. Stupid predators and poachers.

Deer are more like illegal immigrants than gangbangers. Always reproducing, living off our land, looking for handouts.
