2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
I'll sick with Detroit (or Canada as the case may be) autos all the way...
FWIW, I'm seriously considering a 2012 5th gen Camaro as my next new car....67 Camaro: K-K + 797-z (look it up), 454/Th400/4.10 12-bolt = 6mpg, PS/PDB/PW tilt, tach, gauges...
2005 Corvette LS2/M6 Magnetic Red Metallic (What else would it be?) w/ Cashmere interior
2002 Z28: NBM/Tan, MTI smooth lid, smooth bellows, !AIR, !cats, 1-3/4" QTP SS LT's, 2-1/2" TD's with X-pipe, MagnaFlows dumped at axle, custom welded SFC's, MidWest Chassis body mount adjustable T/A, 3400 stall, 3.23 gears (was 2.73). Tuned: 343rwhp/357rwt (before TD's). Best: 12.559 @ 108+, 1.73 60' @ 3500' DA w/MT ET Street DR's.
Carbon footprint? CLOWN SHOE!

i'd still buy a 5.0 over the ugly, heavy ass camaro. they will get it resolved and it will be a better car.
GM has had it's share of issues. look at the issues with the solstice/sky differentials which were made in the USA (i believe). they couldn't even fix them, it had to wait for a complete redesign....
my 06 solstice was leaking before it even hit 1k miles then after having it "fixed" it leaked AGAIN after less than 500 miles.... FTL! traded it after that.Last edited by krese; 04-17-2011 at 06:28 AM.

I wonder why they didnt go with a tremec 6spd anyways. I did drive one of these new 5.0s with this trans and it shifted real nice. I have to say though, if I bought this car and this was gonna be an issue, I'd be real pissed if had to make multiple visits to get assorted trans repairs, and replacements made for the same issue. They did so many good things and got this car right, to have constant trans problems, from a manual at that is ridiculous. What the fuck were they thinking putting a fucking chinese made trans behind a powerhouse engine like that?

It wouldn't be so bad if the companies passed the savings on to everyone, but they don't.
If cars were consisted largely of parts from China then it should be viewed as "disposable" and only around $5k....not putting china crap in leading us to believe its a 10-15 year car and raping is for $30k...
I have to deal with this china crap every day and it's a nightmare...nothing is consistent, hardly works, and the materials they used are just pure crap.
A 5th grader can do a better job building something...
