    Daily Driver!

    New camaros. When?

Does any one have the real scoop on when the new camaros are coming out, what's the sticker price going to be?

I'm debating on getting a gto or waiting for the new camaro.

Releastically, you're looking at late 2008 as a 2009 model.

i wouldnt hold your breath, i was at a chevy dealer talking to one of the salesmen about it and he said they arent going to produce it because of something to do with where they would have to build it, in St. Teresa Canada or either in Mexico and i wouldnt want a mexican camaro anyways.

he said they killed the camaro in 02 because they werent making enough money by building them in Canada, so they want to make the new one in mexico for cheaper labor rate, but i think they wont beable to do so because of some contract issues or some sort of paperwork

again, nothing totally official but a new twist

go with a ls2 vette or gto

    00 Z28 sold :-(

Rather have a challenger....GM doesn't have the balls to come out with the camaro again. They'd have to get a new CEO or something to swing a new maro....also they need to tweak it cause it looks like butt crack.

Well, GM just posted an 8 1/2 BILLION dollar loss. So I seriously doubt if it ever gets built. Your likely to see more trucks and SUVs with zippy little SS economy cars from them. The Challenger seems like it is a more realistic endeavor right now for Dodge, but I have my doubts about that getting into production as well. It seems gas prices and the pressure of building hybrid cars and trucks is high right now. GM has already built a hybrid Tahoe for 2007 too. The world just sucks right now. Constant market fears about middle eastern oil which in turn allows OPEC to drive the price of a barrel sky high.

The new Car & Drivel mentioned that they think that it is on a fast track for production based on how well the 05 Stang was received. Nothing like your biggest competitor having a sales success and GM just standing there with their hands in their pockets...

It's all just speculation right now. No way of knowing for sure.

GM's to fukd up right now, too slow to recognize market trends, they'll be lucky to pull out of the shit now. It's hard for me to understand why they can't see what Ford has done with the Mustang and do the same with a new f-body.

GM went to a lot of trouble and I'm sure spent a lof of money to get that concept to the auto show on time. They were looking for a public reaction. From what I've heard from the guys who went to it, it caused an absolute sensation.
The car magazines are putting the Camaro concept on the covers, MT even featured it as the cover story, so, those all add up to it getting produced.
If I had to bet the house, I'd bet it comes to market in 08 as an 09 model. I'm hoping tho that by that time it won't be too little too late.
only thing is, I wouldn't bet MY house...

Wow, some of you guys really have no clue....

I LOVE how everyone brings up well F*rd has the Mudstain and it sells like hotcakes... That doesn't seem to have helped F*rd get out of the red and have to let go some of their people too... Hmm..

I don't think that an already hurting GM would go to all the pain, time and money to do a media blitz just like they did with the Camaro if they weren't planning on producing it. I'm am downright SURE that Bob Lutz wouldn't be driving it out on stage. I am sure that they wouldn't push back the upfittings of some of the GMT 360/370 SUV platforms to push the Camaro farther into production IF they weren't gonna build it. I'm sure they wouldn't have announced that the first year WILL have a L92 block as an option (you "insiders" should know what block that is).

    All IMO of course....
