My Ride, (New Ride)
I just bought a 93 Corvette, $5,500. I don't think I done bad.
The Vette is so much more comfortable on the high way, handles better. May not be as fast as an LS1, but it's a better car. But I don't think I got a bad deal, it's been repainted yes... It's not the original color. Originally it was black, it's Corvette Yellow now, that I like. They did not paint the door jams. But the paint is in good shape, just needs a buff. Interior is in great shape. I could not find any signs of a wreck, rides as straight as it can be at 70 MPH. Everything is straight, underneath and visble. Runs really good, smooth. Will need new tires within the year. But for the price can't complain to much. I was more impressed by how many mile per gallon I got. I averaged 31 MPg's all the way here. On 95 when I got clean air behind the truck, I seen 39-44 MPg's for about 5 mins. It's a Prius! I like it, and Autocheck is clean, nothing wrong with it, no accident history.
Only has 115,000 miles, witch is not bad for a 93. My guess it was repainted due to sitting in the FL sun for so long... Painted it because it was faded. That's what they told me and I can understand that, happens down here allot. Lots of cars 10+ years old get painted here. His wife did not like black, and had a hell of a time keeping it clean. So they painted it Corvette Yellow, witch I love.
I have some feature ideas for it. I really want some black ZR-1's. You know the white stripe on the Grand Sport? Well, I want a black one on the Vette. Some engine modes, etc etc.
Also, keep in mind the camera settings where off... So the Yellow looks a bit pale.
I know I said I was going to get a truck, but Wheelie made a point... I should get something I can pay off, and if business does great then get a low millage diesel. Well, I decided to stick around our airport, where our hanger is. I can just pull the airplane in there and clean the ones around there and that comes in. If it does well, then invest in a truck. Then expand to near by airports... Besides, I think I may be more busy at the car lot...

Glad I could help in a way, figured being stuck with a tank wouldn't be fun if you weren't using it to work. Hand calculated fuel mileage? What does it have, a 2.73 center section? My mom's '94 t/a 6-speed was just as efficient as our previous '00 t/a 6-speed. Both got above epa estimates. As effiecient, but not near as fast as an lsx motor. Big compression+low rpm makes for a fast efficient car. Trying to get as much compression as possible on pump out of the Fomula and c10, whatever route we go with either of them. Plus the torque from that is fun

You could prob find some LT-4 upgrades for cheap if you do any performance mods.

To be different yet easier to do you could get some lt specific heads with a better valve angle than the stock 23 degrees. This will take the advantage of an ls away (other than the lack of opti-shit ignition) and you have reverse flow cooling for huge compression numbers on straight pump

Yeah, shallower valve angles let you flow more without losing as much port velocity (torque) to bigger ports... Maybe i'm talking out my ass, but that's the way I understand it.

some trickflow heads, lt4 manifold, cam and headers and that car will haul ass. They are pretty quick stock to be honest. You did good on this one if it runs perfect. MUCH MUCH MUCH better then that black car.
