My new boat.
One of my best friends lives in New York and is upgrading to a larger boat. I have loved this boat since he first got it and man it is something. He is giving me a sweet deal. He got it at the NY boat show in 2002 for $30k below market because it was a leftover previous year. Because of this he couldn't pass it up. The boat is worth about $100k now and it is mine for $65k. I told him I would definetly take it and am going to the bank in a couple days to secure everything and purchase it. I will bring it home once he pulls it out of the water and has it serviced.
2001 32 ft. Sunsation Dominator with twin 454's.
Below are pictures of it.

Boat is on Long Island.
Edit** Good call, the boat is registered in OH with his dad who had it all last year and through July of this year. He never registered in in NY.

A buddy of mine has a Corsa exhaust on his boat. it screams and his boat has nothing on yours. Have you decided on a car for your wife yet? Its gonna look real nice sitting next to the boat. Here is the link for Corsa if you want to take a look at their marine exhaust. www.corsaperf.com/autohome.htm

I work in boat sales I just want to give you the bad on this boat. Speed boat market is in toilet has been for 2 years. You will never get back money for any mods you will be lucky to get out of the boat at all when you want to sell. I would suggest you get a survey done even though it is your friend. There may be some issues on the boat that even he isn't aware of.
Now the good news. It is fresh water which means little corrosion and lower hours.

The IRS is going to love you...Luxory tax...state tax.....tax on tax....(not to mention the wifes soon to be new car taxes)....gas tax....tax on shit just to be able to afford that kind of shit!! They are sharpening their pencils as I type!! I would love to get the chance to fly on the water in that thing though.....nice boat.....Oh wait ,isn't this the boat that's part of our "DEAL"?...

Thank you very much for the input. Yea, we know that the boat market is really down and of course with gas being what it is it is crazy. I chalk it up to the enjoyment factor and that it will cost alot of money. We can afford it thankfully and thought carefully. We had originally decided to go buy a 28' Sea Ray but held out hoping this boat would be up for sale. My friend is having it completely gone over by the professionals before we actually make the purchase.

I agree and we originally wanted one very bad. Figured spending time on the boat over the weekend etc...but every once in a while something comes a long and you say, why not? The nice thing is we are getting it for a steal so we figure in a worse case scenerio we won't lose anything and might gain something down the road if the market comes back around.
