This. He's just releasing built up energy.

It's either that or destroying a couch, shoes, or anything else he can get his teeth into.

Big, athletic dogs like that need exercise, and a fair amount of it. Without it, it leads to boredom and destructive behaviors like turning a dining room table into his personal chew toy. And at 2 years old, he's still a puppy - mentally, anyways, despite the fact he weighs 80+ lbs (from the looks of him). Bigger dogs develop slower than small dogs, especially mental maturity. He's just playing, nothing more.

Grab a ball or frisbee and take him outside and run his ass off.

They also have have a 13 yr old cocker spaniel, he is not much of a playmate.

I tried to introduce him to my dog, she is a 9 yr old Dobie. She was not having none of him, she snapped at him he yelped. She is a major bitch though. Just the way I like'em...

13 and 9, huh... You guys need another puppy

I got a playmate for one of my younger Doxies because the older ones just don't want to play anymore. Heh... now I need to get another puppy for the new puppy to play with because he has way more energy than the other dogs It's a never ending cycle

Nah, I live with my brother and he has an 8 yr old male dobie. My dog(female) has some medical issues. She has two big cysts on her leg and belly. They don't hinder her at all, but when she can't walk anymore...well, she has had a good life...she is also incontinent. Been that why for 8 years or so, I guess the vet that spayed her must have messed up, thats what I understand anyway...

    No more pets for me...

Aw... sorry to hear that. It's tough when our pets have ailments.
