Mother's Day Decision

So tomorrow is Mother's Day and I live 3 hrs from my Mom. I drove 2 hrs to Charlotte and walked in a Domestic Violence walk (5 miles) Tuesday... Wednesday drove home and worked in the afternoon. This week I leave for Hotlanta Monday meetings ALL day Tuesday and Wednesday then drive home Wednesday. Work Thursday and Friday.... Then Friday afternoon I have to drive to Myrtle Beach for mine and my sisters birthday. Monday is my birthday and I have to drive 3 hours home again.

SO here is my question. I feel like an ass for not driving to see my Momma tomorrow.... so to go or not to go???? That is the question!

What Jon ACTUALLY means... Miranda you will go see your Mom tomorrow because you know it is what you SHOULD do and IS this right thing!

She won't be around forever. My mom died in 2005 and I miss talking to her. Cherish her now while you can (no matter how bad it was when you were a kid).

I swear my wife is setting me up.

She wants no gifts, no flowers, anything

I even had the kids ask her what she wants = nada.

She got new tile in the bathroom last week so I hope she is considering that her gift, but at least she could let me know so I know I'm off the hook.

You are right, its a set up, don't fall for it. Get her something, or suffer the aftermath

I won't be able to see my mom at all Miranda due to money situations and the fact I have to work tomorrow night so driving 6 hours down and then 6 hours back up would be impossible. Take full advantage of your situation and see your momma!

You can bet your ass I will be calling my Mom though.

My wife told me to help my son cook her breakfast then get out of the house and go fishing..... I am doing it because I don't give a damn if it is a trap or not

My mother died last year. I am very fortunate that I took time out from my schedule to go visit with her the day before she died.

That time talking with her, neither of us knowing it would be the last time, is something I cherish still.

My mom died 2.5 years ago from pancreatic cancer but god blessed me with a wonderful stepmother to spend this day with.

I told my Mom a week or so ago that I would not be able to come so she came to my house Wednesday night... I go see her ALL the time... like every other weekend. I still feel bad though. I had the worlds best childhood! My Mom is awesome... she really is my BEST friend.

My Mom also passed in 2005. 5-5-2005 to be exact...

Every Mom's day I take the 20 minute ride to the grave site and clean off the branches and acorns. Between now and Memorial Day I will head up again and plant flowers for the summer.

For some reason I kept thinking of my Dad yesterday and how he always took me shopping for a card and a gift on Mother's Day.

I suppose he needed me as much as I needed him because Mom would always love whatever I picked out as a small boy and it got my Dad off the hook. But more important was the lesson I learned about respecting and taking care of Mom that I learned from him.

You guys with Moms who are alive are very fortunate.

My Mom's Mom passed away around 9/10 years ago... there is still not a day that goes by that she doesn't think of her. My Mom had a panic attack in Jan. She thought she was having a stroke... I have NEVER been so frightened in my life. I admire all of you for being so passionate about your families!
