might go get one of these tomorrow....
If we have time tomorrow I may go buy one of these St Benards. They're about an hour and a half from us so it just depends on what kinda time we have.

If I could find a newfoundland close enough to me I'd almost rather have one of those.

Newfies are awesome dogs, as are St Bernards. Be prepared for some slobber though.

yeah...the newfi is what I would rather have. Seems like they have a lot of health issues though. Big dogs in general have health issues but seems like they got it a little worse than the others. I've always wanted a St Benard though since I was a kid. I just want a big ass dog this time around.....I've had some big dogs in the past but nothing this size. I had a Rott that went well over 100 lbs but a nice size St benard is almost double that.
I'm aware of the slobber and hair too....no big deal to me. I've dealt with hair from the chows I've had. The slobber will be a new trait but hopefully I'll strike gold and get one that doesn't slobber quite as much....if he does that's fine too.
Another dog I like that I looked for was a Great Pyranee. Those are bad ass dogs too.

We shaved our chow in the summer. He loved the outdoors. Lived a long life...till i ran him over.
IDK if i could deal with the slobber of a st. benard though.

Looks like you will have a dog and a dishwasher all-in-one. What pet(s) do you have now? Didn't you get the kids a kitten a while back?

Friend at work has FIVE mastiff's, those things are huge. Big dogs seem to be lazy though.

my chow mix up there lived to be 13....miss that dog a lot. Best dog I've ever owned.
yeah, we just got a kitten a couple weeks ago. It was a rescue job I found in the woods while hunting. Someone had dumped 3 of them in the woods. I took one and a buddy took one.....the 3rd one disappeared. Think maybe some dogs killed it.

Neighbor has an English Mastiff, like the one in "Turner and Hooch." Very laid back dog and a couch potato. Average life span is only like 7 years though.
