might be buying a laptop..need advice

Okay, so my buddy said he would sell me a laptop for about $500 and my racing wheel (that I dont use anymore). Its an HP with 894MB...windows Vista (which ill redo to XP), and it has a wireless AMD Turion 64X2 processor...

I havent really ever been a big fan of AMD...but I guess I shouldnt say that because ive never had a PC with one...but Ive heard horror stories about them... I was just wondering if this sounded like a good deal...the laptop runs pretty good from what I can see...eventually I want to buy HP Tuners for it one day

Whats wrong with AMD? Thats like the best you can get, 64 bits>32 bits

AMD and Intel both make 64 bit chips...

There's nothing wrong with AMD...

$500 seems a little high, though. You can get a brand spank Dell for $500. I wouldn't pay over $400.

true that...I wasnt saying AMD is bad...I have just never experienced them and have heard horror stories about them...I bet they would be better for tuning anyways becasue of the way they interpret data.

i might see if I can talk him down
