    I agree, Keaton is "the" batman... the whole "batman" enterprise has been irreparably damaged since that original movie, ...Affleck will only serve to further the decline...

    Ledger = Terrific Joker

    Bale = OK Batman.

    I really couldn't stand his "Batman Voice". But then My interpretation of how Batman should sound has been forever forged into my psych by Kevin Conroy.

    Mark Hamill can do a terrific Joker voice as well.

    As far as ranking the movie Batmen...

    Michael Keaton

    Christian Bale

    Val Kilmer

    Keep going down...

    Further...

    George Clooney is somewhere down there.

    I think Bale did a good job...his voice was a little over kill but I think he fit the role. Keaton will always be my favorite and Ledger was just amazing...couldn't even believe it was him in all honesty.

    Michael keaton was asked about this:

    Finally, Christian Bale recently said he felt jealous to see Ben Affleck wearing the cape and cowl—do you ever get that?
    No. Do you know why? Because I’m Batman. I’m very secure in that.

    It really depends on what style of Batman you like.

    Campy then you have Adam West to George Clooney with Val in there too.

    Not so Campy of a Batman but still have campy villains then Micheal Keaton is your guy.

    If your a fan of the darker & brutal spin of the tail then the Dark Knight trilogy is for you.

    Each has it's appeal.

    I'm a huge fan of Frank Miller (creator of the Dark Knight and several other revamps of popular characters like Wolverine and Punisher, Sin City) so my favorites are the DK trilogy than Keaton, Val then West and finally Clooney.

    Ledger's Joker will be almost impossible to top & Tom Hardy as Bain , followed by Jack Nicholson. The rest of the villains that are not in the DK trilogies are all forgettable, well maybe not Danny DeVito & Michelle Pfeiffer as Cat woman.

    I liked both styles...I thought Keaton's were good and I thought the Bale movies were good.

    Jack Nicholson will always be the joker to me tho...Ledger did such an amazing job but Jack made the joker imo. Plus, I grew up watching that movie so I always have a soft spot for it.

    Danny DeVito as the penguin...no words lol

    How about Arnold as Mr. Freeze and Tommy Lee Jones as Two Face?

    I actually think that Tommy Lee Jones could have been a pretty legit Two-Face if the movie wasnt so bad...those movies were very cartoonish and unrealistic which automatically made all of the characters and acting crap.

    I love Adam West. My dad had that show and the original Movie and I grew up watching them and the Keaton Batmans.

    As far as acting goes and reality the Bale batmans were the best. Less theatrics more realism.

    Wiley, if you haven't seen any of the Bale movies then you should go watch them before commenting on this thread. They really are different from the others and good movies.

    George Clooney should be forgotten as Batman and all of the copies ever made should be burned/destroyed.

    TLJ could have been a great Two-Face, but like stated it was like everyone got drunk and grabbed a camera and said let's play Batman. Horrible acting by all, like no one gave two shits if the film sold. Also TMJ had/still does a strong dis-like for Jim Carrey. So that might have tainted any on screen chemistry between the two.

    This is just like the Bond films.....

    That Batman movie did have one redeeming quality in that it totally sank the film career of Alicia Silverstone.

    Too bad they didn't get Lindsay Lohan in it too.

    I'm honestly surprised it didn't sink the career of EVERYONE involved in that stinker.

    Did none of them read the script?

    Edit: The Best Two Face
