Let's talk radar detectors. What's good?

I know the V-1 is the best of the best. I knw the V-1 beats everything else out there. I don't want to shell out the $$$ for a V-1. Is it even worth spending $150 on a Cobra or Whistler or Uniden detector? Thoughts?

I dont use mine much anymore, I have a cobra, its pretty cool but it cuts pretty close. Doesnt give you that much time to slow down when it tells you that you are being radarred. lol. But IMHO i have another one i carry for fun its a unidon, its pretty bad ass, i only use to casue it can get into the airwaves and shit and listen to what goes on between cops ect.
Once passing by the airport it picked up signals from the airplane and we briefly listened to the captain giving a speech to the people getting ready to take off

Do what I do:

Buy a $40 cobra one from wal-mart, leave it unplugged, use your eyes and dont drive like an idiot.

I actually went shopping for one today, seems like cobras are everywhere, I'm saving up for a beltronics myself.

When you have a 30 mile trip to work on the highway, driving like a dumbass or not, it can really pay off consistantly.
