To Kansas City

So tomorrow a.m. I am flying to Kansas City for a week to see if I like the area and want to take the transfer....prob going to be a big difference compared to the east coast. Its going to be interesting none the less......

looks like i am going to be working 10 hr days while i am there, so I dont think I am going to be able to see a whole lot. But I should be able to walk around the city at night. Any suggestions.....unfortunately I dont know exactly where I will be staying but it will be on the KS side...

I worked for a whole 1 day in Kansas City last summer. Not a bad place from what I saw. I think I like it better than St. Louis (where I spent the rest of the summer). Anyway, you'll definitely be happier there than you would've been in Greer, SC.

When you get off the plane there will be a guy waiting for you holding a sign with your last name. Don't be surprised that the sign is made using crayon and cardboard and he probably won't have your last name spelled correctly either. He will most likely smell like pigs and have straw in his hair as well. He will most likely forget one of your bags on the trunk of the car and it will get lost and ran over by a drunk redneck in a 1978 Ford pickup truck that has no side mirrors, lots of rust, no tailgate and a mutt in the back tied to the toolbox. If you stop to use the pisser somewhere, you will be propositioned for butt secks as the ratio of homosexuals to heterosexuals is 8:1 in KC, just FYI. You can get out of it by offering to play a game of scrabble with the winner getting to choose position. You will ultimately win, since KCers can't spell. You will still have to pitch, but beats catching. Even if you did encounter a woman in KC, you would probably be better off pretending to be gay or into animals, the women of KC can't even be talked about. As long as you learn to mumble instead of speaking clearly you should be able to communicate well with the locals. Whatever you do though, don't try to write anything, no one will be able to read it
