    Thumbs up Joining a gym

    Just joined a gym today. We did walk through and i liked the place. The also started to have some mma in the back. Didnt have the extra coin and besides I dont want to kill myself. I have my first session on tuesday. I have a minuium of 40 pounds and max of 60 pouinds I would like to get off. Gonna do some grocery shopping tomorrow and get started.

    Biggest thing is, don't let the uber-soreness you'll feel in the first week or so discourage you from going. Work through it.

    Make a friend too, having someone motivate you (and spot for you) helps A LOT!

    That soreness is what you eventually aim to achieve. If i'm not sore the next day I realize I didn't lift heavy and hard enough

    Eventually, yeah. But too many people join a gym all pumped up, bust their ass the first day for an hour or two, wake up the next morning barely able to stand and go through their daily routine in tears, and decide that their too hurt to work out again today...or the next...and still the next. Then the soreness fades, but they're too scared of it to go back.

    And well...that's the reason the gym I go to is huge, has all kinds of state-of-the-art shit, but is never crowded.

    word. yeah people pussy out because they somehow think the soreness is bad or something.
