Jack Reacher
Well I really wasn't expecting much going to this one, but they had a Chevelle chase scene in the trailer, so I thought I'd check it out.
Go see it, I no need to go into detail, the movie was awesome.

With Tom (Happy Kat) Criuse it's hard for me to watch his acting....
The previews do look good.

Not quite a flop at the theater but not far from it.
I may go see it though. Tom Cruise just isnt, well......a tough guy.

Obviously you've never seen Far and Away.
Kinda sad you judge a movie by it's weekend intake.

Obviously you know jack shit about me. I have seen that movie quite a few times.
Movies are a business....they are judged by how much money they bring in. Its not sad, its the way it is. Obviously they dont make sequels for movies that flop, now do they? Again, he is not a tough guy. Its hard for me to watch a show such as "How I met your mother" knowing the guy playing a dude who gets laid a lot is gay. Much the same trying to watch a movie where a guy is a bad ass and in reality he is a very tiny man who is crazy as all hell.
Not sad. Everything that is "sold" is judged by the revenue it generates. Its all about the bottom line. In saying that it doesnt mean that is the end all but in 99% of the cases it is a pretty good unit of measure.

Watch this movie, then try repeating the statement amount revenue.

I just don't see how you can say he's not a tough guy. Far and Away is inspirational when you think about his determination.Last edited by allbaugh_04; 12-24-2012 at 06:37 AM.

I agree 100%. It is an inspiring story-line and is a pretty accurate depiction of what life was like.
What dont you get about what I said? Read the last statement in my last post (post #7) as I feel the need not to reiterate it at this time.

Schindler's list never even topped 100 million.

Ugh......what about my statement dont you get? lol
I said it is a pretty good indication but not the end all.

Also, you do realize that 100 million years ago is not the same as today so you cant compare it, right? A car that costs say 22k in the mid 80s would be about the same as a car costing 22k + inflation compounded to today. So how do you think that the amounts of then and now are comparable? The whole time value money thing comes in to play.

Well with inflation, that would be 146 million, which is lower than most cartoon movies, even in today's USD.
Braveheart with inflation was a little over 100 million as well.
The Boondock Saints was only in select theatres as well.
Terminator only did 38 million before inflation.Last edited by allbaugh_04; 12-24-2012 at 07:42 PM.

The toughest I've ever seen Tom Cruise in a movie is when he and Willem Dafoe were riding around in wheelchairs, spitting on and kicking each others assess.

Jack Reacher was supposed to be a really tall, big, guy. Tom Cruise doesn't seem to fit the bill.
