    Interesting police stop

    Ok, some back story first.

We all know about the ammo crunch going on with Obama-mania. Ive got country bumpkin relatives who never come out the woods, even then the closest "big town" is dry. I live in a little bigger town, so i can find stuff, plus i have nifty things like a debit card, and internet. They send me a list, and I get what I can. And i deliver it when i come in for the reunion.

So im coming into a small town. speed goes from 70 to 55. I'm in a group of traffic, thats doing about 60, so i just stick with them....for some reason i get into the left lane. still just pacing though. speed dropped to 50, but i didnt see it. Then the white charger stopped in the turn lane ahead of me lights up red and blue. I pull over.

He walks up and says "Sir I stopped you for.......whats all that."

"All that" was an ammo can in the front floor board, a cardboard box in the passenger seat full of diff caliber stuff, i had my back seat laid down with 2 more ammo cans on top of that, and my M44 in the back hatch.

He then proceeded with "I'm gonna have to ask you to step out", I said " I know"

he asked what was going on, i was just honest with them, told him what I had, why i had it, and where I was going. It was all rifle ammo, which id legal for anyone to purchase or possess. He called in my info to make sure i wasnt a felon. the best part was the M44, he asked me for serials. I informed him that the Russians made these things by the millions in the 40's, no serials. he pointed at something on the receiver and said, "whats that say". and I said, " I dunno, it's in Russian". He asked if i had any more guns....I said, yeeeeaaahh, he gave me that look like, seriously? but he didn't make me get them out, by then my info had cleared.

Good thing is he forgot all about me doing 61 in a 50

Thats awesome! Maybe all speeders should just carry several guns and tons of ammo with them to keep them out of getting tickets!

I dunno, i just know mine doesnt. its for 5180 stamped on it in several places, but thats just the numbers to make sure its the original gun.its stamped on the bolt, barrel, receiver, and butt plate.

    No serial per say.

My Sig has the importers name stamped on it, but the M44 doesnt, i dunno.

Someone i talked to said I was lucky the cop was so nice. I said well, I was more armed than him

First thing you do is declare all the weapons in your vehicle when you get pulled over and ask them if it would make them more comfortable if you step out of the vehicle.

Any my enfields, my m44, my m38 and my 9130 and other junk is unreable or doesnt exist. Russians were building them by the ton, some started production without a roof on the building. The importers name will always be on the weapons but serial numbers may not be at all. Date codes will though.

Good clarification. I meant import marks, not original serial numbers. A lot of times the importer-assigned number becomes the listed SN when sold in the US.

Only issue you need to watch for is some of that yugo ammo will split at the neck of the weapon
