    Input on Rotator tear

I have a Minor tear, I have beeen doing PT for about a month and a half now, I go back to the doc in three weeks.Doc says if I keep improving I will not need to get cut open, my thing is if I have a tear and don't take the surgery does the tear fix itself with scar tissue and I may have pain anyways since the scar tissue builds up, and may require surgery anyways.Anyone experience the same problems with the Rotator.......

I tried to train around one of those injuries for almost a year.

After I went to massage therapy, physio, etc. I ended up getting a cortisone shot and taking time off from training for 1 entire month.

Had to take it a little easy when I went back to the gym but I was/am cured!

REST. I cant stress that word enough.

Some doctors will tell you to NOT go back in the gym, BUT they might tell you that you may not need surgery.

The best thing for you to do is rest as long as it takes. When I herniated my L5 disk, I didnt do lower body for about 4 months. I didnt do upper body for a month and a half. When you get back in, pay attention to your body. Also follow any intructions your doctor gives you. He/She may have some workouts specifically for the injury AFTER you rest.

Scarecrows, Reverse scarecrows, arm circles, vertical arm circles, etc.

    I am a trainer too.

If you have a tear it WILL NOT fix itself...Not if it is the actual tendon ....Got a 5 inch scar on my right shoulder know all about it ...If you can get the ortho , get it .. The faster you get it healing the better ...

Yeppers. If you arent allergic, 800mg twice a day (possibly more depending on weight) will help with inflammation.

Yes, there is a chance that surgery is needed, but ask your doctor, not an LS1 member.
