I think I like the Hummer as next tow vehical however
I don’t see performance parts made for the hummer.

The H2 has 393hp I think this is a earley 6 litre I think the
    6.2 litre has more HP

Cam will be easily obtained what specs would be considered mild.
    Will F body LTs fit?

Can hummers be tuned w/ hp/tuners (like my fbody)

Hummers main job tow a total load of 3K LBs of my boat.
Secondarily be a fun to drive truck.

Curious if the hummer is difficult to reach in and work on engine
It appears to be shoved back and real low.

My 02 1500express 5.7 vortec is a weaker TV than I was hopping for.

    thanks

The 6.2 liter motor is the 393hp H2 which was the motor in the last years of the H2. The earlier H2s had the 6.0 at 325hp. The ones with the 6.2 liter also got the 6 speed auto while the 6.0 H2s had the 4 speeds. Either one will tow a 3k boat just fine.

    '02 WS.6 / '07 Suburban

Never had any interest in one of these. They are neat vehicles, but don't appear to be all that practical for hauling people or stuff. We absolutely love our '07 Suburban and everything it can do. Looking forward to replacing it down the road with a newer version that has a bit more power and at least a 6 speed transmission.

I'm sure there is a code on the door or in the vin that will tell you for certain. The internet says the 08-09 had the 6.2 liter with the 6 speed. So I think anything before 08 will be a 4 speed 6.0.

Just look at the sticker in the glovebox. It will have the engine and transmission codes.

I'm now thinking the Hummer looks kindof silly to be cruising around in.

Why not just sack up and buy a pickup?

I probabelly will never use a truck to haul stuff in it's bed so besides towing a truck has little usefullness to me.

I was curious about a newer conversion van untill I read/ heres the engine specs on a 2015
Engine, Vortec 6.0L V8 SFI FlexFuel (342 hp [255.0 kW] @ 5400 rpm, 373 lb-ft of torque [503.6 N-m] @ 4400 rpm) (Includes external engine oil cooler. Reference the Engine/Axle page for availability.)
    Frame, full-length box ladder-type
    GVWR, 8600 lbs. (3901 kg)

    the 6.0 makes good HP however it's only 43 LB-FT more than my 02 5.7 vortec at 330 LB-FT

and it weights 1500Lbs more than my 02 it's 7100LBs.

think I'll be focussing in on the 5.3 it comes in 03 and newer van however it also makes lower than expected torque here's 5.3 specs Engine 2004 model, Vortec 5300 V8 SFI (285 HP [212.6 kW] @ 5200 rpm, 325 lb.-ft. [445.5 N-m] @ 4000 rpm) (Requires C*13406 Models

edit I am interested in AWD if it doesn't reduce overall MPG. what is the aveage MPG lost on expressway cruiseing?

I would get the SUT with the 6.2 and the 6 speed auto. But that's me.
