I need tips on storing my F-Body for the winter
This is what i found on another forum, is there anything different i should do or is this a little overkill. The car will be in like a polebarn but not out of the winter elements.
Fill the tank up with gas and use a fuel stabilizer, i use a briggs and stratton one. i dont like stabil. i over inflate the tires by 10-15lbs. change the motor oil as late as possible. put plastic bags with rubber bands over the tail pipes and over the throttle body. i also put bounce dryer sheets throughout the car. and go to walgreens and get some peppermint oil from the pharmacy. put that on a bunch of cotton balls and put it throughout the car. from engine compartment to trunk. these last two are to ward off mice. then put traps througout the barn. remove the battery and take it home and put it in your basement.this has worked well for me the last 3years. i dont start mine throughout the whole year. some people do some dont. it seems like starting it for short periods creates a lot of moisture in the crankcase.

Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
I have heard folks talk about putting their cars on jackstands and taking off all 4 tires and putting them in bags. They also talk about either taking their battery out and putting a battery tender on the battery on a slow charge. Many methods of storage out there.

Red- 2002 Camaro SS
Seriously.... people get crazy storing a car for a few months. I pull the battery out completely since the garage is detached and unheated. Otherwise... wash it, wax it, cover it, forget about it until April. 8 years of doing this, car has 45k, never had an issue.... oh... well except for that one time a mouse built a nest on top of the intake!

2000 Grand Prix GTP- 2000 Trans Am WS6 M6
I put Nymph in the garage and hook up a battery tender...that's it. Then again, I usually take her out on the nice days (60-70 degrees) we do get in Winter here.

Silver- 2005 Toyota Corolla (DD)
I had to store my car for 11 months when I was on an assignment. Here's what I did.
Added Fuel Stabilizer before topping off the gas tank (enroute to the storage unit).
Once there,
-removed the inlet duct and bagged the throttle body
-steel wool in the tail pipes. (Don't bag them, it will trap moisture)
-Liberal spray of WD-40 in each cylinder, then installed spark plugs
-made sure all interior vents are closed
-disconnected and removed battery
-removed wiper blades so they wouldn't stick to the glass
-jacked the car and placed supports under control arms (tires off the ground!)
-greased all the hinges
