I caught the first mouse second one is tricky
I caught the first mouse secondone is trickie
I observed mouse turds in my storage shed so I put out a spring loaded rat trap
Loaded w/ almond butter.
Couple days later mouse bites the dust usalley if there’s one mouse then there’s
Another correct?
If there is a second mouse he is very slick at stealing the bait w/out springing the
Trap he’s stolen the bait three times now.
I’m now starting to think a roach stealing the bait.
What do you Guy’s think?

You're not setting the trap sensative enough if he's stealing the bait without it going off. Peanut butter is the best bait. You can also try the bucket trap. It works well.

Is it a trap like this? If so, you have to just barely engage the metal piece with the plastic piece. My dad and I used the bucket trap and caught approximately 16 mice out of his out building.

Yeah, it's not real obvious on the setting, but that metal piece should just barely catch the lip of the trap part....that way if a feather lands on the trap it'll go off (not really, but you get the point). If you stick the metal clip into the engaging piece all the way, the trap becomes less sensitive. Mice will lick the bait without setting off the trap. That trap should almost snap just from setting it down. Try to keep all your fingers lol.

the trap I have is actualley a rat trap so when I enguage it I stuff the holder all the way into the lock.
the bucket w/ roller cans likes interesting think I'll try one.
so you Guys think it's definitely the second mouse, like mice hangout in groups correct?
when I load the trap I stuff a blob into the bait holder fairly secure not sure if a roach could run off w/ bait.
I will look around for more mouse turds.

If there was 1, there is likely more.

update on mouse catching remember I started w/ a rat trap and got the first mouse rather easily then the second critter I say critter because it maynot be a mouse we have lizards/ skank blue tail lizards, roachs and lots of ants.
I was surprized that the second critter was continuing to steal the bait so I surrounded the rat trap w/ smaller mouse traps the bait conitnued to be stolen. weird thing couple days after the extra traps where set (none sprung) I see a dead large mouse (could have been a small rat) leing on the patio.
last week I built the buckect trap initialley I observed roach turds inside bucket today I observe a bucket full of ants.
must be a combonation of insects stealing the bait.
thanks

Use "Bug Stop" spray. It works great. They sell it at most hardware stores.

this stuff https://www.walmart.com/ip/Spectraci...&wl13=&veh=sem
where should I spary around base of bucket and not near the buckets ramp?
edit I think the dead rat on patio was killed by the mice in the shed, (rat came in shed for the bait) like will mice gang up on a rat simiairl to mockingbirds chasing off ravens?

Yes. Spray it around the entire perimeter of the building. You can spray it anywhere. I spray it around my house and never have problems with ants and other critters.

It kind of is, isn't it. I don't think I've ever seen so many rats before. Thank goodness! I'm about to set a few traps out back myself. I keep finding really big turds out there. I see dirt trails from underneath the concrete around the pool area, so I think that's where they are living. Zoey was going crazy back there the other night. There is no way for her to get up under the space between the two slabs though. I finally had to put up a separate gate to keep them away from that area for the sake of the neighbors that night.

update I opened the shed door this afternoon an observed what appeared to be a brown mouse I saw a tail, dam he was quick I thought the mouse sleeps allday?
also the mouse has cleaned out every trap except for bucket bait so he must be hungry now.
edit found a cockroach in bucket plus more ants, think I"ll empty and refill water this time add the couple drops of dawn dish soap.
will holdoff on piosin I'm determined to catch/outsmart this little devil.
to be continued.

You don't need to add anything to the bucket other than water. Whatever falls into the bucket drowns.
