    Angry I am a Moron.

    I need to come out and say it.

    When I did my heads and cam back 2 years ago, I blew a head gasket Right after the Dyno Tune on the passenger side. the gasket blew on the outside so the antifreeze would just pour out on the side of the block and not inside ( Badly installed Head Bolts). It was my first time doing anything internally with very minor knowledge. Anyways, I called GM and had them ship me one Head Gasket and one order of Header bolts. I also brought my passenger Head to a machine shop to check if the head was warped which it was so I had it milled.


    Here is Moronic part. My Drivers side Head is not milled and its still sealed with a Felpro Head Gasket.


    It kinda hit me couple of months ago what I had done. I didn't even think about it. BTW, Brand new H/C with MS4 cam is coming my way soon.

    I'm really suprised you do not have major detonation issues....I mean how do you tune for one compression ration on one side and another on the other side?

    Do you know how much they milled the head? Chances are it's not more than .007-.010" In that case you dropped your cylinder volume on that side by 1cc. Carbon buildup in the combustion chambers and pistons on the driver side probably equals that

    by milling a head .007 to.010 will not have any effect on youre engine that u will ever notice so dont even worry about it just pull it apart and mill the other one if it bothers u that much when u get ur cam but otherwise leave it

    The car was tuned right before the head gasket blew.

    Since 2005 I probably put 2,500 miles, but there are also about 30 1/4 passes on the 150 shot of N2O. The car ran 11.1 @ 120mph.

    I wonder if my car would of ran faster.

    Like I said I am not driving the car untill new heads and cam come on.

    I dont know about that .....valve clearance on my heads aint but 0.10....

    well its dumb when you forget to plug in the coil pack on one side. Its dumb when you reverse the two cooling lines by the radiator cap.

    What I did was not dumb, its moronic.

    is it moronic to unbolt the bellhousing from the engine before unbolting the tranny from the bellhousing?

    Yeah? So? You're clearance as you stated is .100". Milling .010" brings them to .090" which is still safe.
