HOT ROD Power Tour 2008 - Day 7 Coverage
As the 2008 HOT ROD Power Tour long haulers arrived at Alliant Energy Center on Saturday, June 14, one last time a feeling of accomplishment unlike years past was in the air. They had driven through seven states and 1200 miles. The had doged tornadoes, hail, floods, and rain. Some had broken down and gotten back on the road. All of them felt grateful to be in Madison and to have made it through the most memorable Power Tour yet.
GM Performance Division brought some great vehicles this year to show. From the E85 roadster to Jay Leno's HHR panel truck. From the Pontiac G8 customized for rap star 50 Cent to Jay Leno's C6RS Corvette custom-built by Pratt & Miller. Even longtime HOT ROD project car Project X was on tour all week.
We've chronicled the ups and downs of the week. The friends made. The friends remembered. The memories that will never be forgotten. The 2008 HOT ROD Power Tour is one that will not be forgotten for al ong time to come. We look forward to seeing you next as we start from Madison, Wisconsin for seven days of cars, people and memories!
