hostel was awful
don't buy or rent this stinker, it wasn't even scary.
first half basically a porno flick, the 2nd half is watered down predictable cliche.
i'd bang the italian girl that lived in russia or whatever she said, but that's the only good thing.
Yeah, i'd definately do her without a condom. Avoid the rest of the movie.

I thought it was pretty good. Much better than any "scary/twisted" movie that has come out in the past 10 years.

I've heard that it sucks, haven't watched it yet but I bet it wasn't worth the trouble I went through to burn it, at least I didn't have to buy it.

Without all the tits and ass the movie would've really blown...the acting sucked and it wasn't even that gory. SAW I and II is definately better...

A second one done right might be really good. It has potential. But it would probably suck.Last edited by CaptainCaveMan; 04-30-2006 at 04:56 AM.

Hostel sucked. I wish I hadn't wasted my 8 bucks on it when it first hit theaters. The bad acting, the plot(or lack therof), the overly exaggerated gore, just a sucky movie. I don't know if Quentin Tarentino had much of anything to do with it besides putting his name on it, but I tend to stay away from his movies anyway(Resevoir Dogs sucked, Pulp Fiction was okay, the Kill Bill movies are aweful). The previews made this movie look good, but it's not. Basically they took Eurotrip and Saw and spliced them together and made a shitty movie.
I just don't have much to do with movies. It seems like I'm always disappointed when I go to the movies lately. Movies just suck right now, but how many times can you use the same idea for a movie? Everything has been done.

Agree with your assessment most of the whole horror genre as been brutal as of late.
Also agree that Seven was the last decent 'horror' flick I have seen even though it is probably more of a mystery/suspense film.

Saw 1 & 2 were almost amateur films, but most people expected that. They had like a million dollar budget, and three weeks to make it. Having said all that, I thought the Saw films were "pretty good."
Of course not as good as the high dollar films like seven etc. But anyways, different strokes for different folks.

Saw it last night and thought it was gay for two reasons:
1) had boobs for the sake of having boobs
2) had gore for the sake of having gore

I thought his other movie Jackie Brown was good also. Mostly because sam jackson kills that dumbass chris tucker. I can't stand that motherfucker.
