I have a big ol mess. No really in reality it rocks...but it is a mismatched conglomeration of stuff from about 13 different manufacturers ....but hey...it works and sounds fricking better than some of my pals $5000 systems....and finally found a remote that is easy enough for Mama....at all places...Radio Shack...controls everything...6-1 remote with that chameleon touch screen....

Sorry about the mess...
Here's my bedroom system, with TV and all equipment it came to around $7500. The system in the living room is a little older and was around $4000 but I never got the surround sound speakers or center channel, it's just stereo.
BEDROOM:
Denon AVR 2805 receiver
Infinity Beta 50 Towers
Infinity Beta 360C Center
Infinity Beta ? Bi-pole Di-pole Mono-pole selectable surrounds
Infinity Beta 650W 10"sub (absolutely pounds!)
Denon Hi def DVD player
Panasonic DVD player
Sony VCR
Xbox 360 connected to my iPod
DirecTV DVR
Sony 32" High Def TV
Philipps Tivo
Oh, and all Monster Cables and Monster Power.
Living Room:
Denon AVR 3801
Definitive Technologies BP2006 Towers with 10" 250w subs in each one.
Cheapo RCA TV
PS2
Sony DVD
Sony 300 disc changer
Nintendo Gamecube
and more Monster Cables and Power

I need to do some updating, but as of late we haven't been home enough to need to update the warez, but we have a rear projection HD 57" Sony TV, Sony head unit (I don't remember which number it is), with full surround (not 7.1 though) 100 watts per channel, Sony DVD Changer (HD), Gateway Connected DVD (connects to the network to play music, video's, pics, etc..), HD Cable, XBox 360 (HD of course), PS2 (with HD hookup), Cerwin Vega 15" "Front's", CV Center speaker, CV 8" rears, CV 250 watt powered sub (w/15" sub), HD Media Center Puter that I built, and the best of all, a Laser Disc player (I'm not even sure I hooked it up last time I redid everthing). Nothing terribly fancy, but it'll shake the hell outta the house.
I do have a couple of customers that either work for or own a home theater company, hmmmm.......

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
my bro built a theatre in his basement, here's a link to it's slide show. It plays kinda slow depending on your processor/connection speed. It's really awesome!

I just have a 52" RCA and a 750watt sony surround system. All off the shelf type stuff but I'd love to dump the sony speakers at some point and upgrade. So many hobbies and so little time/cash.

I agree on that Sony has become just a name with inferior product (for the most part).
I bought a Samsung 61" dlp tv last December... it's great, my first HD tv! I use DirecTV and got their HD/DVR receiver. I have a slightly older pioneer a/v receiver. It works great but I want to get a newer one that has the HDMI capability. I also have cerwin-vega surround satellite speakers, they do the job for me. I'm not really into sound systems but.....
When I got the new tv I moved my old Hitachi 50" into the living room and hooked up the xbox to it for my son to play on.

No....not really....I use those high dollar AA batteries...so far so good....of course it is only a few weeks old
Did you turn off the motion activation? I turned it off....now you have to touch it to get the screen to come on....
