Holley LS Fest - Hottest Engine In America

It's been 15 years since the LS family of engines was introduced by GM, and these engines have rocketed to the top of the scene as the must-have hot rod powerplants to the point that we have no problem proclaiming the LS as the hottest engine in America right now. It's been 15 years since the LS family of engines was introduced by GM, and these engines have rocketed to the top of the scene as the must-have hot rod powerplants to the point that we have no problem proclaiming the LS as the hottest engine in America right now. It's long since escaped from the underground and has hit the everlasting mainstream, with even the naysayers now swapping in the lightweight powerhouse and reaping the benefits of great mileage and efficiency. The days of fearing the Gen III and IV small-block are gone.

sure, the new 5.0 is a decent engine, but why pay $8k for a engine that isnt as strong as a $3k ls6 with $5k in mods? Plus, the LS has strong aftermarket and engine swap support already.

The new 5.0 will have its aftermarket in a year or two also. Way, way too many Ford fans to not have one. I hate to admit it but if it wasn't for the Mustang crowd pushing for aftermarket stuff none of us would have anything after the 70's/80's when the gas wars and smog laws came along.

btw a great article to read.

If I fit in one and had the extra money to blow I would build one of those RX7s in a HEARTBEAT.
