hamster passed away...
probably sounds stupid, but I'm really upset about it. Like, really really upset. I put her in a shoebox and buried her in the backyard among the snow and sleet this afternoon.

Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
I had pet hamsters when I was a kid. And...yeah, I cried when they passed. After the last one died, I didn't want another one. I was 9 I think. But I do have thoughts about getting another hamster, if not a rabbit.

Hamsters make good hacky sacks.. Very unpredictable in a stall..

i'm sorry to hear all that...
when we're like 10 years old, small pets die and we move on fairly quickly because we aren't old enough to develop strong attachments to these things easily.
but being older, it's just different, especially when the pet is somehow associated with a big change in your life. When i got my hamster, I was in the midst of patching things up with my father and moving back home to his place...and my girlfriend (now ex) and i picked her out and named her and everything. it was nice having the little critter around during those lonely nights (it was great...we were both basically nocturnal haha)
i decided i'm going to have her cremated...you guys can call me lame all you want but it just didn't feel right leaving her buried in the backyard in a shoebox when you know the next owners of the house might someday dig up the spot for whatever reason.
