Green streak of light?!

Okay im sitting in my bed watching a movie, and i have a window next to me with the blinds open. Anyways out of the corner of my eye i see an amazingly bright flash of green light, its about midnight. So i jump out of bed, knocking my cat over along with a bunch of other stuff. Look outside and theres a green object travelling across the sky at an amazing speed, it looked pretty damn big too. Anyways within a few seconds it was out of view, but damn that thing was bright! I guess it was just a meteorite? Anyone ever seen anything like this??

I actually did think about getting abducted by aliens. That would suck. Researched it though and apparently some meteorites just burn bright green. Maybe part of that satellite they shot down?
