relaxin in jackson...somebody was gonna say it sooner or later.

enjoy it it's not that bad. i was at benning in the middle of the summer.

just when they kick yer ass off the bus find the highest ranking DI and listen to him/her and do what he/she says. you'll be fine.

and remember this when you're doing pushups in cadence...

    attention to detail...teamwork is key

yeah. i was a 13 foxtrot...fire support specialist. there were actually 3 of us and oddly we were all from the same unit back here in central WI in the guard. i swear to god every DI that saw the 3 of us asked us our mos and then the next question was "what the hell are you doing here you should be at sill."

at first we responded with "it's where they sent us drill sergeant." but after a while that got dull so one of the guys said "we liked it here better drill sergeant." oddly after that we never got asked what we were doin at benning after that.

good luck. It's mostly mind games. if you can follow simple instructions and be a team player you should not have any problems.

constantly. i'm still depressed at times from not being in anymore. but with knee surgery and tmj i'm pretty well not eligible for service anymore.

oh...and as a mechanic on choppers...WEAR YOUR EAR PROTECTION!

g/f's brother is a huey/cobra mechanic in the marines and a few times he didn't wear protection and a few backfires from the birds and he has about 30% hearing loss right now. yeah they'll cut him a disability check...but it's not like he can buy a new set of ears with the cash.

oh and i was just thinkin...shit son you gonna have it easy.

no black boots to keep perfectly polished at all times. no bdu's to keep perfectly neat and clean and wrinkle free.

man...if only the acu didn't suck so bad i'd much rather have had it than my bdu's...but i prefer to blend into the foliage not stick out like a sore thumb...haha...MULTICAM FTW!

i haven't been around many apaches but i've been around and in several uh1's...same airframe, engine, and drivetrain so basically the same chopper different skin.

they aren't loud from 50...60 feet away...but up close they are quite loud and inside while they are operating is not much better.
