Get to pick my christmas present

I ended up with a bunch of cash for Christmas but I can't decide what to spend it on.

I'm stuck between a good radar detector or the tint job I've needed ever since I got the car.

The radar detector will definitely be useful with all the new radar cameras/mobile radar vans around phoenix....and the pesky motorcycle cops that seem to be so good at hiding. The tint will make my black car look 10 times better and help with the hot AZ summer sun. Might even be able to afford that passenger window motor I've been putting off for almost a year now if I go with the tint.

Help me decide!!

With the money you'll save from your speeding tickets,you can afford tint and a window motor...so IMO, get the radar detector

My friend spent his xmas money last year on tint... He had it on for maybe a week and got pulled over by the cops for it. They gave him a 10 day card.

Get the detector unless they aren't legal where you're at. Then tint first to hide it.

Dude, all I had to read was: Arizona. Get the tint dude, seriously! Radar detectors can have a shorter lifespan if they are burned to a crisp!! (not to mention you ass when you sit down)

I probably have about $250 to spend. Found a few god deals on used V1s and STIs but cant decide if I want to spend that much on a radar detector.

For what it's worth I tinted my passenger and driver windows myself b/c I wanted 5% and I got the back glass done professionally, dont remember what I paid for it but the tint for the side windows was like $20. As for the radar detector there was a thread posted on here not long ago, by some dude who said he had one of the expensive ones and then got a cheaper one and it was actually better than the pricey one I think it was an escort.

I vote neither. I would get a couple of LS1.com t-shirts. That way you won't have tint on the window and everyone can see into the car and see what a bad ass you are for having an LS1.com t-shirt and then if you get pulled over by the cops he'll let you go because you're a bad ass in an LS1.com t-shirt.

It only takes one save to get your money back. My Detector is over $400.

But they are right, you are in AZ. And tinting that large back window would be nice.

but seriously, the turbonator will double your horsepower and reduce fuel consumption 70% , so that will easily pay for the tint and speeding tickets!

Well I got the tint and it was way cheaper than I thought.......now I just have to decide whether to spend the rest on a window motor or get like a used STI or RX65 or something.
