The Georgia Way of Getting a Truck Unstuck.
Saturday evening my friend calls up asking about my new z71. Asking if I could possibly come assist with removing his s10 from a sinkhole out in the middle of no where behind some power lines. Sure enough I agree and the next morning we set out to the unsticking area.
Upon arrival we meet a nice fellow doing land escavation??*sp* and ask him if he might possibly be able to assist in the matter.
We drove our trucks out the area to either watch or help get my friend unstuck incase the man with the escavation tool decides to not show up.
Sure enough... 10 minutes later we hear a rumble... and the dozer emerges out of the woods sort of like a dinosaur in Jurrassic Park.. anyway. Heres the story in pictures.Last edited by ThackerSS; 05-06-2006 at 06:30 AM.

Mind you we tried about every means of getting him out before this. The night before they had an f150 attempt to pull him out, but the ground is just too soft to gain any traction. He was much worse the night before as it was halfway up his door.
Today wasn't so bad except for the ground being so soft.

Ground didn't look soft. Was taking it easy. Turned out to be soft. Truck sunk.
Was much worse before his other firends tried to yank him out. I'd say they made progress, just didn't have the traction to get him all the way out.
If you are asking why he was there.
Thats how we do in A town.

I wonder what made him think he could make it in the first place?
Not that I have any room to talk...
I got stuck once in my old Ranger 4x4 with 33" Swampers in a saltwater marsh, and before it was over with, I had 7 of my friends stuck who had come to be part of the rescue attempt... One was a 77' Chevy with 44"'s. He broke his rear driveshaft and buried the front wheels..
We finally got enough people to lift my Ranger out of the ruts, and I very cautiously pulled out a few folks, who pulled out others. Just the "yank the fuck out of em'" method. No steady pulling that would sink you.
It was fucked up...

Sad thing is it didn't look that bad when we started, however it was in there, andi n there good. No ground clearance means whatever is trying to drag it has to drag all that ground with it too, which wasn't working too well.

I had my s10 blazer that sits on 33's buried to the frame rails one day on my dads farm. it took my dads k2500 and a yota on 31's to pull me out. that was a fun day. makes me want to get back working on my blazer
