    Which GeForce?

typically you need to go to:

    Display
    Click settings
    Click advanced.
Click your card tab at the top if you've loaded the drivers.
    Click perfromance and quality.

Click in between high performance and quality (perfromnace)
    Click 4x antilasing and anisotropic.

Stay out of texture until you've fixed.

    close

    See what happens

Boot to safe mode. Adjust settings. Reboot and tune. This is a good thing. If the monitor will not display the resolution or refresh this is how it protects itself.

Right. Check resolution / settings first. Whats your display / monitor?

    Two things
    1) Does your desktop look distorted? May still need to adjust your display resolution & Refresh rate. May also need to adjust monitor display settings (buttons on front of monitor). LCD or CRT? What Make & Model?

    2) Win XP Task Bar & Start Menu Properties, May have the Auto Hide Task Bar checked. Move cursor to bottom of screen, does Task Bar pop up? Right click next to Start button, select properties, un-check Auto Hide Task Bar.

Also you need to go to your monitor settings and move the screen horizontal / vertical until the taskbar creeps into view.
Then adjust left right until you have a nice full screen.
