Furniture shopping

Well, I've been shopping around for a new living room set for my house. I don't know if any of ya'll remember or not but a few months back I installed new carpet, was going to buy hardwood until the quote came back of over $4,500.00. My entertainment center is falling apart and the couch looks like ass with both my kids running around like wild apes. I'm leaning torwards a leather couch and love seat but the one I found was a hair over two grand. Would ya'll recommend going with leather? I'm thinking it would be better for kids due to being stain resistent and easy to clean. On the other hand I can get the same set in cloth for around $1600.00. I'm thinking in the long run the extra money spent on leather would be well spent. Oh, and for the entertainment center, I'm buying a big screen. Not sure what type yet but something along the lines of a 60" flat screen HDTV with surround sound. Just wanted to get some opinions from the fellow parents out there.

Personally i love leather. My aunt has white leather couches and lazy-boys and they are very comfortable and dont stain!!!

Leather is really easy to keep clean.. but if you have a pet that likes to be on the furniture..it will get scratched up pretty bad. We had a leather couch.. and it was always cold when you first sat on it.. but once they warm up.. they are so comfortable!!

oh shit I about died when I read that! I could picture my little girl running into the TV and knocking it over on top of herself. That would suck. Good advise though

If you want to save money, scotch gaurd has come a long way

Scotch guard can't cure some of the things my two little rug rats have done. They are destructive little shits, I think I'll go ahead and buy the leather though because it does clean easier and is more comfortable. I sure wish I could win the lottery, seems like whenever I save a good chunk of money something breaks or needs to be replaced.
