Front license plates???
Although I Haven't heard anything on the news, I think Connecticut is cracking down on front license plate violations. I went to work yesterday heard my boss was pulled over and warned about his front license plate, and another guy I work with received a $95 ticket for not having his front license plate??? These guys are not teenagers rolling in honda civics with fart can either, one a physical therapist and the other is a x-ray tech. Although my car is put away for the winter Im still pissed cause i always have the cover over the front license plate. The car looks better with the cover. And further, more a 95 dollar ticket for having the front plate obstructed or not even there is robbery.

Money money money money, money, money ............uhhh, monnnnney.
More more more more more more.
When the government needs money, they want to make it easy to get.
What are ya gonna do in court?
"Your honor, I admit I didn't have my plate but my dog ate my homework and I had to drive my 11 month pregnant wife to the hospital"
Yeah, it is an automatic fine.

$95 huh?
Hmm, I wonder what the fine would be out here. I actually have no idea. I've been counting on getting a warning if I get pulled over

The state patrol here in Iowa are starting to become nazi's about this too (along with tint). Not sure what the fine is for the front plates, but for tint, its like $80 total.

I've gotten about 6 or 7 warnings in the last 10 years for it. I got one ticket. It was parked, at the airport- backwards (if I had pulled in, they wouldn't have seen it).
it was not an inexpensive ticket. I don't remember how much, it was a long time ago.

I have had a bunch of them. It is easier to put it on then to give them a reason to pull you over. Also the $95 gets expensive after a while. In NY it is not the ticket that kills you it is the $65 surcharge on each ticket up to 3.

I would like to move to either Maryland or Virginia by the end of the year. I drive through Virginia during the summer and i see very few cars without plates there. I have family in Northumberland county, and i know its strict. Every time I cross over into Maryland on Rt. 301 at 3:30 in the morning i see many troopers, i set the cruse control at 55. Last summer I saw about 8-9 between crossing over 301 in Maryland to the bay bridge. Funny cause that stretch is straighter than the Jersey Turn Pike, and flatter than the bonneville salt flats. Heaven forbid a corn stalk got a little wind lash form a car going 65 mph??? if some one knows why Rt. 301 in Maryland is enforced like the President takes his morning jog down it Please let me know.

I put mine on the airdam also. it looks great and can be seen from 15-20 feet away, and easily by a cop sitting on the side of the road.
i think there is some distance in front of the car that the plate has to be visible by but i dont know what it is. I think i'm fine. no tickets yet.

I'm not 100% sure of this, but when CT started switching to the registration stickers that go inside the car on the windshield, there was an option for Classic and special purpose cars to have the traditional sticker on the license plate. At least this was the case for my Nova a few years ago. Because the new registration stickers are UGLY, and classic car owners apparently complained enough that it looked so fugly that there was an exception.
I'm not 100% on this, but this is what I heard. And I did get different registration stickers for the Nova.
Point is, maybe if enough of us gripe about how damn ugly the front plates look on our cars, we wont have to worry about it.
