Found another DD candidate
and I am trying to get a loan approved
Here it is:
1998 Lincoln Mark VIII Sport
Coupe
62000 miles, Dark Green ext,
Tan Leather int, V8, auto
trans, ABS, A/C, alloy
wheels, pwr bucket seats,
cruise control, CD,PS,PW,
sunroof. Good cond. Must
sell, moving. New tires, new
brakes. Premium 60k mile
service done. Needs painting.
I drove it today. The paint is cracked in few spots and faded in one but it's supposed to be a DD not a show car so I don't care.
Any opinions on these cars?

Taupe/Red- 2001 Trans Am Conv
I sold one for my neighbor last year. Real luxury and very nice to drive BUT when something goes wrong with any of those luxury functions it is ULTRA expensive to get parts and fix. Just be prepared for that unless you can get parts for reasonable and fix yourself. Good luck!

I've had to fix more shit on my Dads Lincoln Continental than probably any car he's ever owned and It's got less than 60k on the clock.... Stay away from Ford products is my advice, especially for a DD!

You dont want a Lincoln Mark VIII. I have a 98 LSC and it eats fuses all the time .. And is VERY expensive to fix....STAY AWAY from them...

Black on Black- 2001 Camaro SS
I had a 98 black v6 Camaro as my DD. I needed the money, and sold it. It was only a v6, but it was a great DD, I had it for 5 years and the only thing I had to replace on it was a battery, alternator, and plug wires. I had some 18 inch Giovanna wheels and a $2,500 stereo system on it. I can actually say that I miss that car.

she has like 66k .. Cops love them .. you never get a warning in a Lincoln... a T-bird lot better choice .

I work at a local CHP and Sheriff hangout place
I found a forum for Mark VIII and some links from there have suspension components and kits to switch to coil over springs, it's around $400 - not too bad
I think I will know by Monday if I get it or not
Pictures to come

Well when everything is working right they are very good cars ... Turn at slow speed a lot better than a f-body ... can cruise in on all day .. Mine gets 22 mpg out on the road, JBL kicks serious ass ....make sure it has owners manual and get used to fuse box layout...

If you get it ... a very common problem is the whole tail light system.. It runs buy the trunkhinges , you'll see it .. It will rub and short out all of you taillights, backup light .. What you do is check it out and wrapp the wire individualy with elec. tape and then wrap them back together , you will never have a problem,, Heater is another common problem ... ibasicaly you have a plasit gear that should be a metal one .. So check the heater make sure it is easy to go from cool to heat ....

it seems like 90% of those cars are slammed to the ground due to worn out suspension. i dont know anything else besides that but thats the first thing that comes to mind

04 GTO QuickSilver- 95 MarkVIII wifey white
I have to say that the 95 MarkVIII that I bought new for my wife has 75,000 miles on it and the only problem we had was an air ride sensor went but that was while it was under the manu. warranty or would've been @500. If it were to be driven by me primarily, It would no doubt be toast because the 32v intech 4.6 @300hp rips pretty good but she babies it so it will live forever. I tried to talk her into getting a new car a few years ago and she said "you'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands.
Anyway, as with all used cars, you always take chances . I occassionally take it out for a run and light em up but for the most part, It's been babied.04/A4 Quicksilver
