Foose 69 Camaro on HiDef Discovery Channel

    Anybody catch that?

Chip Foose and Unique Peformance build a 69 Camaro his way. It was fun to see from start to finish. What a car! They're going to sell around 500 of these. The proto, the coupe featured on the show was a brighter hue of Hugger Orange.

Optional 572ci big block crate motor with Hogan EFI rated at 620 HP.
Comes standard with IRS. Expect to pay anywhere from $109K for the "base" model 350ci (355 HP), to over $179K for the big block beast.
They also offer an LS2 with 400 HP or you can add a S/C.
And as you can see, they also offer it in a vert too.

Can't seem to find any photos of the Hugger Orange one, but I was able to download a pdf of teh story at www.uniqueperformance.com

*EDIT* THIS JUST IN: As I am reading more about the car, it may just be that you can only order the vert starting @ $139K. Not sure though.

Just more toys for the rich boys, but it sure had me droolin' over it. I can dream can't I?

    69 Camaros

here's an image I dug up on the orange one:

his customizing shows are so much better than Boyd's.
Coddington's studio reminds me of the Springer show, just a dysfunctional family, the "Bickersons" if you will.

Foose? All business. All creativity. And very inspiring to watch from start to finish.

I don't deny Boyd is a great customizer. Look what his cars get at the auction. And I love some of his designs.

Im just saying that I think that the student has surpassed the master.

Yeah lose the wheels. little over the top for me too.
But I love the 4th Gen SS style hood. Very clean and nice.

the hugger orange one was better looking imho

just read where Foose is such a workaholic that he only gets 5 hrs sleep in a week sometimes. Guy's gonna burn out too quick if he keeps that up.

That looks like it has too much 'bling' for me. Not that I wouldn't take it, I'd just prefer a mint condition stock one.

    Same here.

I've read about these cars before. I'm not that crazy about them.

With a car like that, you could have a lot of fun with them. I love seeing a bone stock 1969 Z28 with the 302 and 4-speed in mint condition. But I'd be affraid to drive it. At least with a car like that, even with the $140k price tag, I wouldn't be affraid to take to a parking lot and do burnouts, donuts, and other fun stuff, and still drive it to the local cruise-in.

Besides, now a days, you can build a brand-new Camaro from all aftermarket parts anyway.

I know the show MuscleCar on SpikeTV is doing just that.

HOW MUCH? For that you could by to very good 325/396 SS and drive them anywhere you wanted.

Foose has found a niche market to sell his designs to rich collectors. My hat's off to him, if I could do what he does, I'd love it.

Wouldn't burn both ends of the candle though, the way he does. His bags under his eyes are beginning to look like luggage!

After looking at his cars, and the originals, I'd have to say I agree with you guys that the originals are still the best. Only thing is, there's only so many of them left.

maybe someone can tell me whays up with putting huge rims on old musclecars, and I see alot of these silver/gray things. I like bold blues and reds and such , is that just changeing things for the sake of makeing them differint.

who knows whats up with these designers? Maximum bling brings maximum dollars? I read where the wheels on this car as ordered are supposed to be 18s which are not huge, but the ones in the photo look bigger than 18's. Not sure though.

I really don't like the ones on the car.

Like I said, the orange one featured on the show looked a lot better than this silver one pictured here. jmho

I was trying to find some pics of a 67 chevelle that year one did. It was terrible. My stock 67 locked much better than what they did to that thing.
I do agree that I like the show I have watched a few episode, the one about the 55,I think, chevy was a very good show. But again they used that silver/gray paint.
