Post dvd player and hdmi output?

I have a sony dvd player that Ive use about 4 times. I just recently tried to use it and I cant get it to work on hdmi anymore. I get audio and the video signal comes and goes.It works fine with a basic rca video out. Ive switched hdmi cables and tried different inputs on the tv but no luck. Its 5 months old so Im outta luck on the warranty which is sad because like I said Ive only used it like 4 times. Its been plugged in to a battery back up the whole time.
    Any ideas?

one of the connections might be bad on the tv or dvd player

Yeah thats what Im thinkng as I tried both hdmi inputs on the tv and different cables. How does it go bad if I havent used it or moved it and then all of a sudden no worky?

If your dvd player has HDMI it should also have component hookups...which model do you have? I have a sony DVP-NS75H and it has component and HDMI...only prob is for some reason it only goes to 480p with component

your settings might no be right, but as far as a bad hookup, sometimes things can break when you are putting it together.

Yea i've had mine for a few years now and no probs at all. They're pretty cheap now so you can always go buy a new one for under $100...it's a bad time of year with Christmas and all though.

Did you try spraying compressed air in the hdmi connector on the player?

HMM nope guess Ill give that a try tomorrow. I paid $119 when I bought it a couple months ago. I bought that along with a 50 " plasma and a HTIB. Not pleased with any of it at this point. Oh well live and learn.
