Dogs Teeth
Ok I have a question, my Mom's dog got his teeth cleaned the other day at Petsmart, now he has not eaten or drank anything???? Is it possible that they hurt his teeth or gums?

Petsmart? Yea i'm sure they screwed something up. If they didn't put the dog under like they should have they could have hurt it either holding it down or it jerking while they have tools in it's mouth. That's why dentals are so damn expensive..I think I paid around $350 last time and that's with a 55% discount because the ex worked there.

He should have been sent home with some antibiotics and a dental rinse for after meals. Depends on how bad his teeth were and how much work was done. They basically need their kibble softened for a day or two. Their gums will be sore.
But, he should have an appetite and want to drink.

Your dog just wants to keep his pearly whites white for as long as he can hold out. That's all.

i take it your lucky enough to never smell the reason why they are cleaned. ive met some dogs where just being around them absolutely reeks from a rotten tooth or two. my little one had some bad breath starting up because she had some shit between her baby k-9s and adult k-9s. she hasnt lost her babies so now we gotta get them pulled.

I am thinking the physician may have poked or cut your dog's gums somewhere. If so, the wound should heal asap.

I just give my dog a good bone or a rawhide bone both of which will do a good job of cleaning your dogs teeth. These people that brush there dogs teeth are just weird. Had a dog that lived to be 13 and never once brushed its teeth. My new dog(2 years old) has also never had her teeth brushed.

was it petsmart or banfield animal hosptial inside of petsmart..
the gf and i take our cats to banfield inside petsmart and the people are great too them!
even with the teeth cleaning. (we have them on a medical plan their, so the visits costs nothing)
best thing to do is call and ask the person that did the cleaning...
