If that's true, that is a very good price. Maybe I should give them a call and see what they can do for me.

mind you I don't daily drive it and there's absolutely no coverage for racing, but that is any policy you can get commercially.

    $86k

I went to 3 Dodge dealers last weekend, and every one of them has at least one person on a waiting list with half the MSRP already put down. They are going to be worth $150k in not even 5 years.

Craig Jackson (CEO of Barrett-Jackson) predicted that VIN # 1 will come through his auction and fetch more than $1,000,000. These will be collectible cars. I doubt more than 500 will even be driven on the streets.

I think GM made a mistake by making the COPO Camaro's not street legal. Both the Slowstang and now Demon are benefiting with being street legal and not hurting in sales.

Agreed. However, being track only cars makes them a bit more "prestigious" to the people who have the money for them.

What? Neither the challenger drag pak or the mustang cobra jet are street legal. Those are the race-only competitors for the COPO camaros. The demon has nothing at all to do with the drag pak. And I'm guessing neither Ford or GM gives two shits about the dodge demon.

You can't register a Cobra Jet Mistang either.
GM and Ford should've done something like this.

There is a street legal COPO in Louisiana. There is a street legal challenger drag pak in Michigan. They aren't mean to be, but there are ways around it in certain states.

There is no way Ford and GM "don't give two shits about the Demon". There will be an answer from both Ford and GM. I don't think the new Shelby GT500 will be a direct competitor to the Demon, but I don't think it will be too far from being a competitor. I think GM will answer with some form of 2019 Camaro.

Drag paks, cobra jets, and COPOs don't have vin numbers. If some guy got one registered as a kit car isnt relevant to the discussion. And tell me why GM or Ford should worry about the niche market demon? GM and Ford are selling their respective performance cars just fine. The ZL1 is a much better all around car than the hellcat, which is its competitor. GM and Ford aren't going to engage in some dick measuring contest for a few thousand sales units.

The fact is, they are registered and are street legal just not from the factory.

I would assume you know pride is deeply ingrained in the automotive world, and while money is of course the main objective, believing they "don't give two shits" about the competition having the quickest street legal production car is asinine.

Look at sales numbers. That's all they're worried about. A one year only of what 3300 isn't a blip on the radar for them.

That's why it isn't much of a reach to say it's a matter of pride. If it wasn't, there would not have been a number of cool cars throughout automotive history. It's what makes it interesting.

I'm guessing Lt1, Lt4's, Ls6's, and coyote engines never blow up? Nicely trolled ..

If there is a way to make money or increase sales GM will have an answer for the demon... if not... they won't. This is about making money... if it were about brand pride the 80s and 90s cars of America would have looked and been engineered completely different than they were.

Not to mention the fact that GM is more focused on making all around great performing cars, and in that end, they're kicking ass. The sixth generation camaro is fantastic, and the corvette continues to be americas best sports car.
