221mph would be insanely fast for a car shaped like that with that weight. I would think it would take more than 750 crank hp in that car to hit that number.

It's not totally far fetched to conclude from the "performance pages" video that the number on the display "757" is the rear-wheel HP number. If there is an adapter to plug the display into a chassis dyno, that would be sweet but that would put the crank HP to close to 900 which I don't think is going to happen.

The Launch Control Assist and a two step have the same function in that you can hold your foot to the floor and not over-rev your engine (although the two-step requires users to set actual settings). The LCA goes a step further using wheel sensors to adjust engine torque so the wheels don't spin. Both can be used to build boost before launch. "Unrelated" is an incorrect assessment. There are numerous similarities.

I considered a two-step for our car but I think that our Street Automatic class at the track precludes electronics. Getting a consistent launch RPM is so hard to do with the few seconds I have after staging, especially with everything else going through my head.

No A/C in drag mode. Using the A/C system with the intercooler to cool the S/C.

    Race gas mode.

The Demon Crate will come with a PCM with more aggressive timing, then with the flip of a switch on the dash, you can take advantage of race gas.

Those are the numbers in quite a few of the rumors that are floating around. I have no doubts it will be a single digit quarter mile car with the use of the accessories that are included in the crate and race fuel. They are having a live reaveal tonight on the ifyouknowyouknow.com website at 7:30ET. Should be pretty good.

They won't hit those times unless they address the traction issue with small tires. Can't believe I'm saying 275 tires are "small" That size has a good chunk of tread but compared to 300< tires they look like skinny's.

Comes from the factory with Nitto drag radials 315/40R18. Should do pretty well.

Single digits are going to happen, quite easily.

I think their "HO" (high octane) reference is really talking about E85, and not "race fuel".

I don't see that. I think that would be AWESOME, but I think that would be more for the hardcore, knowledgeable racer than someone with too much money who wants a fast car (which is really the market I think Dodge is aiming for with this car)

It is kinda nice to get back in the HP game again. For yrs their brand has suffered because they wouldn't release their code so that tuners could be able to tune for the aftermarket.

    It's healthy for competition.

If Trump rolls back some regulations on the car companies and emissions, we may see quite a few high HP cars in the near future.

If for some reason, they can get rid of the emissions on diesel trucks, I'm gonna buy a brand new duramax. I'm not holding my breathe though.

Why would it be any harder than running race gas? Either way you have a tune for E85 or a tune for race gas. No real difference in usability except E85 is more widely available than race gas.

The hellcat was always capable of those numbers...aftermarket tunes showed how much that thing was underpowered from the factory so it's cool to see Dodge opening it up some from the factory.
