Do you have a radar detector?
If you do, say which one please.

I have one. Its the $40 Cobra from Walmart.
I only turn it on when I'm on the highway, because I'm not a ricer. Nor do I use it as an excuse to do stupid shit, or let my guard down.

Not really. I mean, it detects cops before I see them, but most the time I don't drive fast enough for the cop to bother turning his engine on. The last ticket I got I had my phone plugged in instead of the detector... but it wouldn't have made a difference anyway... Clocked me with laser.

yes I have two, a Beltronics 965, and Rx65
Beltronics and Escort Radar detectors are the same company.
I have always bought beltronics and will continue to buy them for these reasons.
1. I won their ride of the month contest and won a free radar detector
2. they will buy back any (regardless of brand) radar detector you have as a credit towards a new one
3. most importantly they have worked and saved my ass everytime.

thats not a dumb question at all.
The beltronics RX75 can block front and rear laser shots, so in a sense it is a laser (lidar) jammer. Yes it will prevent a cop from being able to record your speed. However this only works for laser not X, K, or Ka, since those are radio signals the FCC prohibits the use of blockers/jammers on those.
the RX75 is expensive

Most police forces still use X, K, or KA, just be smart with your radar detector and the enviroment around you.
In regards to the STI by beltronics, that one has a shield that makes invisible to radar detector detectors. Cops with use a detector to spot your radar detector then pulse shoot you. That makes you an easy target since radar detectors work by picking up signals of cops shooting other cars. Now the cops just wait and shoot you.
Now if a cop is clocking you or using a camera, there is nothing to detect that!

don't have have one, don't really need one. Usually drive with the flow of traffic and blend in. the hand full of times i've been pulled over i've not gotten a ticket, just warnings. t he times i've been stopped radar most likely would not have helped either 85+ MPH by the time the detector would have gone off he would have locked on anyway...
It's amazing how many cops are ex military... i'm always polite and usually end up talking to them about the AF.

I have a $100 Walmart one (COBRA), detected a laser twice, one of those times I was about to get road head (it gave her enough time to fix her clothes just in case). Also saved my a** a few times from KA and K bands.

I have one but it is never fast enough. Cops love to hide at night and I do most of my highway driving at night!
