Degree or certificate??
Well I have a job right now designing and drawing with Autocad as well as some sells/purchasing in a mechanical field. I'm going to school for an associates in drafting right now but I'm strongly considering getting an autocad specialist certificate instead. This is probably a long term job and the only drafting I use really is strictly autocad. Anyone have any pros or cons for the degree vs the certificate? Also the certificate is 15 hrs opposed to the 63 for the degree

basically its a piece of paper stating that you are a draftsman (either one). you would be doing production work and redlines. CAD monkey/CAD bitch, all the good names we have been called...
differences, pay maybe and more job opportunities, i guess. wish you the best in whichever route you choose to take. though, one can never go wrong with having a degree. that's a given in todays competitive job market, especially with the profession...
i can freely say that to you and it's 100% true. I got my B.A. of Architecture from Kansas State University (5 yrs, 165 credit hours).
