At first I thought PONTIAC was going to leave GM and be a stand alone company.. The way it is reading now GM will just close the factories ... them Saab and Hummer ... I dont think it will hurt the f-body cars because they already have their own worth ..

i would think the value would increase later on. I mean, think of a car who's company doesn't exist-makes that car kind of a relic ya know? and a cherishable one.

Really depends.... AMX Javelins are going for a lot these days... But as stated above... Oldsmobiles aren't going for sh!t. I think the value of the Pontiacs would go up though quite a bit.

If it was a special car in its day it MIGHT be worth more once the company crumbles. But, IMO, that's typically driven by the fact that collectable supply is low because so few were made/sold in the first place - a sign that nobody wanted them when they were new. Which probably had a lot to do with why Company X went out of business.

If Pontiac goes Dodo I don't think it would affect the resale value of an F-body or Goat much.

Oh well....things always change and stay the same at the same time....as for the value...of course if you own a car that is from a defunct maker...of course the value goes up as that brand is not made anymore...thus you have something that isnt being made anymore....

LOL. This is the saddest part of the whole deal. The F-body cars have such a following and tradition that they would be better preserved and admired as time goes by than GM as a whole (The Corvette would of course also maintain a large community/collector base).

The value of our cars would not be affected, in fact, they would probably see a steady rise over the years, while historians will label the canceling of the F-body as one of the decisions that helped bring about the end of GM.

Honestly i bet the value goes up since the entire company no longer would procude ANY pontiacs, plus our cars are going up now, im been shopping around and i cant find a low mileage ws6 for under 20k. some are going for 23k, 25k with like 3k miles on them. i wouldnt say that are in total demand but i can say that ones in good shape are getting harder to find... especially if ure picky like me and HAVE to have black leather haha

I don't think you'll see much change, at least in our lifetime.

But by the time we're gone, gasoline will probably be a thing of the past, just like metal cars and 8-tracks have gone bye-bye.

i saw on the news that it was pontiac hummer and saturn... i would like to see an official report because i think closing saab would make more sense... saturn is very marketable right now
